About Paul Amaranto
I have always been interested in Art,studying it throughout my elementary and high school years. While pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture at Rutgers University,I took a studio art course and decided that I wanted to pursue a fine art course of study. With a major concentration in painting and a minor concentration in silk screen printing. I recieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art in 1974.
For the next few years I continued to paint and pursue other artistic mediums, such as stain glass and sculpture while working full time in other fields.
While working in the late eighties and early nineties I had the free time to concentrate on my art work. During this period I entered and was accepted into several juried art shows including the Atlantic City,Ocean city and Wildwood Boardwalk shows.
Over the last few years I have been completing the work on my studio and working on concentrating on my art fulltime. The last time I was able to concentrate on my painting, my work tended to be rather realistic, after a while this became somewhat tedious for me. I have always been a colorist at heart findig both colr and form to be the artistic components which ionterest me the most. My new work while based on reality concentrates mainly on color and form.
